Vector pAdeno
Promoter CMV
Insert PUMA
Insert Size 0 bp
Organism Human
Accession # Q9BXH1
Alias BBC3
Protein Type Apoptosis Regulator / Mitochondrial
Protein Family Unknown
Functions PUMA is suggested to be a direct mediator of p53-associated apoptosis. It plays a role in mediating p53-induced cell death through the CytC/APAF1 dependent pathway. Exogenous expression of PUMA results in an extremely rapid and profound apoptosis that occurs much earlier than that resulting from exogenous expression of p53.
Cell Types Widely expressed
Protein Location Mitochondria
Chromosome 19q13.3-q13.4
Protein Structure PUMA encodes three BH3 domain-containing proteins, PUMA-Alpha, PUMA-Beta and PUMA-Delta, which are produced through the use of an alternative first exon and contain 193, 131 and 101 amino acids respectively.

Titer 1x106pfu/mL
Storage Buffer DMEM with 2.5 percent glycerol
Shipping & Storage Adenoviruses are stable at room temperature for short time and are shipped with dry ice .Do not store at -21°C or 5°C for long term. For long term storage, it is recommended to store the viruses at -81°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Before storing at -81°C, it is advisable to make small aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Screw cap vials are recommended to decrease chances of the storage buffer desiccating which leads to decrease in infectivity. Diluting the virus is not recommended.
